And, somehow, we already found ourselves in Spring Break! We stayed home, as we have a lot of travel planned for later this year, but we still found lots of ways to keep ourselves busy. Maybe too many ways; I was exhausted by the end of the week!
The Monday of Spring Break was actually Daddy's birthday and he requested a family day at Top Golf, so off we went!
Celebrating Daddy at Top Golf!
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Tuesday we got to meet some friends at the zoo AND we had a special surprise for Little Buddy: Ms. A was able to come with us and hang out!
Still loves Ms. A!
Got some snake petting in!
A great zoo day!
Wednesday found us down at the Houston Livestock Show for the first time since 2019! As crowded and crazy as we remember, but both of the kids had a good time.
All ready in their Western gear!
Super nice handlers making sure he got to enjoy petting the rabbits!
Our happy cowboy!
His love "driving" the tractors remains; so happy to see him enjoying himself!
So happy we got to take him again!
On Thursday, I was excited to get reservations to go see the Easter Bunny! My love of holiday pictures of Little Buddy and Little Sweetie in matching holiday outfits will never cease.
Happy boy ready for Easter!
On Thursday night, Mamaw and Papaw arrived! We were excited for their visit and took them to Main Event on Friday (which was also St. Patrick's Day).
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Little Buddy was able to bowl several frames!
Enjoying time with his grandparents.
Bye Mamaw and Papaw!
Brunch before Little Buddy's Amazing Grace class!
He enjoyed making a palm for Palm Sunday at class and also being able to attend Adaptive Stations of the Cross!
Enjoyed both kids being off on Good Friday by doing our yearly strawberry picking (along with some early blackberries)!
Coloring eggs!
Reading Easter stories to prepare for Sunday!
We started our Easter Sunday with early Mass (with matching outfits, of course!) and then home for more Easter family fun.
He is risen! Alleluia!
The Easter Bunny came!
Little Buddy loved his basket!
Ready to hunt some hard boiled eggs!
Eggs!
My favorite egg hunters!
Now time for plastic egg hunting outside!
Remember all those strawberries we picked? Little Buddy got to help turn them into jam!
Snuggling my sleepy baby before getting him up for school. Take nothing for granted.
Height and Weight
Proud to say that we have gained this month! Little Buddy is up to 117 lbs. and eating well, just slowly sometimes. I'm glad we have a dentist appointment next month to keep an eye on if his teeth are bothering him, but right now I am glad for stabilizing and growing weight!
Our big boy in his new Tiger/Stranger Things shirt!
Personality
Still sleeping well (if a bit roly-poly some nights!) and still very happy. So fortunate for our joyful boy!
Like any pre-teen, bed is one of his favorite places!
Blessed with so many smiles when I told him Daddy was on his way home from his work trip!
Developmental Changes
Overall, stable and happy this month. Such a relief! Hoping we can maintain this. He's actually eating, sleeping, and urinating well, though I wouldn't mind a few more regular bowel movements.
Staying strong with horse therapy!
We are having some minor issues with getting our giant boy off the bus, so PT has been helping strategize ways to help him. It doesn't seem to be a skill issue, just a "he's grown so much and doesn't know what to do with his long limbs" issue, so hopefully we can get a good system in place.
Fun Tidbits
Opening Day has arrived! Little Buddy was excited to wear his Astros gear to school. Looking forward to some baseball this summer!
Let's go 'Stros!
Now that Spring Break and Easter are passed, I know that I am going to blink and it's going to be the end of the school year! But we'll cherish it all!
Good night,
LBM
