Why Hello There 2024!

Happy New Year!

My resolution for this year is to get back to posting on this blog regularly and to add in all our pictures that I have missed for the past few months.  It will take a while, but I caught back up after our Make-A-Wish trip, so I can do this!

We have been very fortunate to enter into 2024 with a happy and (mostly) healthy 13.5 year old (this sinus infection isn't serious, but it's making life a bit harder than it needs to be).  The past month has been a bit crazy with the end of the semester, Christmas, and Little Sister and I's choir trip to Rome.

Sorry, buddy, it's still 2 days until Christmas Break. You've still got to get up!

When he did finally make it to break, he got out a few days before Little Sister, giving Momma some good quality time with her favorite boy!

Waterway walks, library reading (and nap!) time, and finally some lunch! My favorite date!

For Christmas, we decided to do the Children's Mass on Christmas Eve to best fit Little Buddy's sleep schedule.  We enjoyed Mass (in our matching outfits, of course!) and then came home for our Christmas Eve traditions.

Handsome guy, ready for church!

As we got ready for bed, look who showed up as he was flying over Texas! Santa dropped off a few little items, promising to return with more goodies after everyone went to sleep.

Visiting with Santa!

Then it was cookies and milk time!

The Magic of Christmas!

Christmas morning was wonderful.  Little Sister woke up first and happily opened all of her presents. Then, when Little Buddy woke up, she was the best super sibling possible and helped him with all of his gifts.

Honestly, we couldn't ask for a better sibling pair. I just hope she knows that he loves her as much as she loves him.

Our happy little elf!

Merry Christmas to all!

But then the hardest part of break for Momma came...I was headed to Rome to help supervise Little Sister's choir trip, while Daddy and Little Buddy stayed in Houston.  Little Sister and I had a great time, but it was so hard being away from our boys!

The boys wishing us well on our travels!

Ringing in the New Year!

Thankfully the week went quickly and we were reunited early in the new year!  We were so happy to be home!

Excited to see his Momma!

Height and Weight
Miracle of miracles, our big boy is 5'4 1/2'' and 120.4 lbs!  We are so thrilled to have rebounded and made these gains.

Our amazing and resilient boy!

Personality
Still very happy and very cheerful, while also being VERY over his stuffy nose and cough.

I mean, just look at that happy face!

Developmental Changes

Overall, still doing very well, but he is a bit more tired and dazed thanks to this sinus infection that won't quit.  Sigh.  He was very happy to get back to the routine of school and continues to do well at his therapies!

Napping with Daddy and just feeling a little fuzzy.

Fun Tidbits
Look who is excited that he lost a tooth AND that we actually have it instead of him swallowing it! Momma found it when she noticed he seemed to have something in his mouth after school pick-up; she wasn't expecting a molar though! He had been extra drooly and seemed to be having issues chewing again, so hopefully this explains and resolves it.

We actually get to put a tooth out for the Tooth Fairy instead of just a letter!

And that's it! I've managed this blog post and will catch up on the other entries. We are ready to make have more adventures and make more memories in 2024!

Good night,

LBM
