August 11

And as quick as it came in, there it goes!  Summer is fading fast (although the heat is NOT) and Little Buddy starts school in 9 days!  But don't worry, we've been making sure to make the most of our summer days (including our San Diego trip, which gets its own post entry)!

At the beginning of July, we really had to focus on Little Buddy's swimming, biking, and running so as to help him prepare for his second entry as an adaptive youth triathlete!

After doing a great job in his swim class with Ms. J this summer, we worked to keep his skills strong in the pool!

So proud of himself!

We kept him biking as much as we could in the heat to prepare him for race day!

Ready, set, go!

King of the road on his adaptive trike!

Sprinting up the hill in the backyard is a good way to keep your running legs in shape!

Zoom!

Taking a quick break!

All that hard work paid off and we were so proud of him at the triathlon!  We loved seeing how happy he was and how strong he is!

Daddy, it's race day!  I'm ready!

Great work on his swim!

Transitioning onto his trike!

My boys off on their run to finish it up!

Crossing the line!

You did it buddy!

Getting the special WILLPower award!

This smile says it all!

Getting some coverage in the local news!  So proud of our boy!

We are blessed to have a YMCA that works to include all kids into their programs!

After the triathlon was over, we managed to keep our summer full!

Took an impromptu trip to Waco to see our Sanfilippo family that was in town!

Finished up the library's summer reading program!

Biking for fun with Little Sister (who learned how to ride her bike without training wheels this summer)!

Enjoying time at the park!

Lunches with Daddy!

Spending time with his favorite person, Ms. A!

Playtime with friends!

Or sometimes just lazy morning cuddles with Momma!  (We have to do them while we can!)

But the signs of the end of summer keep approaching...we bought school shoes and got our back-to-school haircut.  Where did the summer go???

He loves going to Walking Tots for his shoes!

Haircuts are never his favorite (he's not a fan of the buzzing!), but after haircut carousel rides are always good.  He looks so spiffy with his hair cut again!

Height and Weight
Dropped down to 69 pounds this month; hoping it's fluke and we aren't losing weight.  And still just under 54 inches...he can't seem to break that line!

He looks so grown up sometimes!

Personality
Still lots of smiles, though we have to watch out for him getting overexcited or overstimulated lately.  Overall, he's doing ok.

Love this face!

Developmental Changes
Still loud and still not self-feeding much at breakfast, but doing better at other meals.  He's been very interested in his books and cars lately, and playing with them appropriately, which makes me happy!

Our bookworm!

Fun Tidbits
Mimi and Pop-Pop came to visit, so we decided to cross of one of Momma's summer adventure goals and head to the Blue Bell Creamery!  A true Texan tradition, we got to view the ice cream making process from an observation deck, eat some giant $1 scoops of ice cream, and play on the statues in the statue garden!

Made it to Brenham!

Somebody sure looks the part!

Ready for ice cream, Momma!

Somebody's looking to go into sales!

Uh-oh, now Little Sister is jumping in...and with some dance moves!

Checking out Belle's statue!

Thanks for coming to play, Mimi and Pop-Pop!

Sibling hug love!

I can't believe that my next entry will be about out boy starting the third grade.  I will be happy for the routine of school, but I will miss our daily adventures!

Until next month,

LBM
