Happy Belated Turkey Day!

We were all set for a great Thanksgiving...date night for Momma and Daddy, Turkey Trot in the morning with the kids, great food...and then this happened:

Somebody puked for his babysitter.  Sigh.

Nothing takes you out of the holiday spirit as quickly as vomit.  Our fun, busy day quickly became our lazy day of survival.  Thankfully, Little Buddy's bug passed very quickly and we only had to delay our celebration one day.

Punch drunk from staying in the house all day watching movies while Big Brother gets better.

Once we were in the clear with Little Buddy feeling better and the rest of us miraculously having missed the germs, it was time to begin the celebrations!

Little Sweetie helping to decorate the ceramic Christmas tree I made this year!

These two are ready to ring in the Christmas season!

Got in a little Black Friday shopping!  So happy to be feeling good and getting out of the house!

After much preparation (and a day of waiting), Thanksgiving dinner is served!

Being festive in the turkey glasses Little Sweetie colored for us!

Little Buddy got his long-awaited and much loved pie!

Our elf, Pat, showed up and brought us the first of our Christmas books.  The season is officially here!  Both Little Buddy and Little Sweetie are ready to celebrate Jesus' birthday and are excited for the magic of Santa.

2017 has been a rough year for us following the cancellation of Little Buddy's clinical trial.  However, Little Buddy's school wreath reminds us that we still have lots to be thankful for.  In addition to his choice items of "Paw Patrol," "Pie," and "Magic Tricks," we are simply thankful for every moment that we have together.

A very thankful,

November 11

Last month was one of our busiest of the year!  It seemed liked we had something every day.  I'll be glad for things to slow down just little this month so we can focus on enjoying the upcoming holidays.

One of the things we were busy with was Little Sister's birthday!  We got some great family shots and pictures of Little Buddy during her birthday photo sessions.  He also had great fun at her birthday party!

Birthday party shenanigans!

Blessed every day to be together.

Our handsome boy!

Daddy's boy!

Always be my baby boy!

And this...this picture is everything.  I can't even put into words the beauty of this moment.

Little Buddy has been doing well at school and at Run Club!  His first race went well.  He hasn't been able to run a lot at Run Club because he's still working on building his strength and endurance back up, but he did run this race!

Ready for Tie Dye Day at school!

Rainbow at Field Day!

First one mile race of the season down!

Not everything was rainbow and sunshine however; Little Buddy had to have his annual ABR to test his hearing.  Unfortunately, it ended up being a long day due to some paperwork issues.  He came through it ok, but he was feeling pretty rough.  On the bright side, his hearing is stable!

Ready to go and smiling at the beginning of the day!

Feeling a little crappy after the procedure.

So over it all.  Hiding from the world.

And our Sanfilippo work never takes a rest.  First off, Momma had to go to DC for a conference and to meet with the FDA and a drug company.  Secondly, we were able to meet with another newly diagnosed family, this one very close to home.

Not so sure about Momma leaving...

...but he's very excited about Momma coming home!

And this is A (I promise, both she and Little Buddy were having a better time together than this picture shows.  This was at the end of a long fun night!).  A is the daughter of Little Buddy's music therapist at school and we had a hand in getting her properly diagnosed.  Meeting A just reminds us how important our advocacy work really is.

Height and Weight
Still hanging strong at 69 pounds and just under 53 inches!

Personality
School is tiring him out, but overall, he is still very joyful!

Developmental Changes
Nothing big to report here, which is good.  I'll take stable any day of the week!  Still loves riding his trike on the cool days we get and has been doing well in his speech and OT sessions.  Lots of singing and food words!

Fun Tidbits
The other big thing that ate up our time in October?  Baseball!  We were excited to cheer the Astros to the World Series!  They ended up being World Series Champions and we were happy to join in on the celebration!

Let's go Stros!

Whelp, that is it for this month!  Time for bed!

May you all be so lucky as to have a BatDad to read you bedtime stories!

Good night,

LBM
