Happy New Year! Another year ahead of us. We know there will be hard times, but we also know that there will be adventures and blessings and memories. So full steam ahead!
Little Buddy had a great last few days of school and then was ready to start our winter break fun.

We had the extra excitement of Daddy being off the last two years of the year as well, so we worked hard to complete all the outings we wanted to accomplish as a family. First up, the zoo!

Little Sister was also very adamant that we make our annual trek to the Gingerbread Village, so off we went! It was definitely warmer this day than our zoo day!

We had a wonderful Christmas at home and in New Braunfels (I've written about Christmas in a separate December post with pictures). We finished 2022 with roller skating with friends as well as some small fireworks out front of the house. Both kids were ready for bed and hoping to be asleep by the time the crazy fireworks started, and we were glad for good sleep to start off 2023!
So fortunate to have a roller rink that lets Will participate and for great friends who accept him and even help push his chair!

Midnight isn't really an option for us, so "Noon New Year" is one of our favorite traditions! Happy January 1, 2023!
The school year here starts pretty quickly after New Year's Day, but we were able to get Little Buddy's crazy hair finally shaped up before he went back. Also, since Little Sister started school the day before Little Buddy, he got to have a fun day with Momma and Daddy all to himself.

The year continues on and we're already looking forward to more fun adventures. The annual Charity Challenge for The Woodlands Marathon is coming up soon, so Little Buddy is in full training mode!

Height and Weight
So...our weight isn't a concern currently because someone decided to jump to 119.5 lbs! Obviously our more calories and healthy fats plan worked, so thank goodness and holy cow! Puberty means business over here.

Developmental Changes
Hallelujah, guess who finally got his PT approved?!?! And it was due to an external medical review that independently found and cited the Sanfilippo Guidelines published by the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation this recently. We're already seeing improvement and are so happy to have all of this therapies back to their full schedules now!
I mean, we're thrilled about twice a week PT, but he's not as big of a fan!
The other big change this month...my baby somehow has enough facial hair that he needs to shave! *Sob* Daddy wrestled him around, but he was able to shave off his mustache and mutton chops to reveal the baby face still underneath.

Fun Tidbits
Gift for Little Buddy are often difficult, so this holiday he received lots of clothes (because he'd grown out of so much!) and books. I think sometimes people feel bad about "just" getting him books, but we aren't kidding that he loves them! Makes our hearts happy to see.
