September 11

This has been a big month for Little Buddy!  He's settled in to kindergarten and had his first big quarterly evaluation in Minnesota along with all the regular things that come along with being 5 and awesome!

Oh, I'm just a normal kid...

I start my day with breakfast...

...I go to the dentist and get Super Brusher stickers...

...I clean up messes with my sister...

...I play and do my "work"...

...I read books (with cousin A, who came to visit!)...

...I travel with Momma to Minnesota every other week...

...to get my infusion of experimental medication (and to eat grilled cheese)...

...and then I fly home, while watching shows on my iPad (thank goodness for iPads).  What?  That last part isn't what normal kids do?  It's ok.  It's becoming MY new "normal" and I'm doing great!

Unfortunately, his school routine and new normal were interrupted by his next Minnesota visit.  This was one of his quarterly visits, which meant surgery and nearly an entire week away from home.  Daddy couldn't take more time from work to come to this one, so Aunt D volunteered to come along.

Excited to be with Aunt D!

Riding back with mom to start surgery and then resting in recovery.  Everything went well!

Paw Patrol and apple juice in recovery...the winning combination!

My beautiful, brave boy.

Released to the hotel!  Back tomorrow for infusion!

Books and quesadillas make everything better.

Working on his school assignments with Momma and Nurse C!

Aunt Diane is a good cuddle AND a good footrest!

Finally get to go out on the Elephant Playground after infusion!

Thumbs up!  All good, Aunt D!

Cuddling up and going to get some rest...back home tomorrow!

Kissing Aunt D goodbye and then on our way back to Texas!

But then we were back home and ready for fun!

Lego time with Little Sister!

Fun at My Gym!

Baseball games!

Chuy's lunches!

And fun times with friends, like his good friend, E!

But it's not all fun and games here...we have plenty of craziness too!  Like how my upstairs is completely torn apart because my downstairs is ACTUALLY torn apart (we had new floors put in).  Keeping both kids upstairs all of the time has presented it's own set of challenges!

This looks like this...

...because this looks like this!

We managed to make it fun with some (noisy) upstairs picnics (though still surround by chaos).

But thankfully, at the end, the downstairs looked like this...

...and we were back to meals in the kitchen!

Through it all, though, this cutie pie is still always full of smiles.  Love him!

Height and Weight
He's weighing in at just under 60 pounds and still right around 47 inches.

Personality
Sometimes even super joyful super heroes have a bad day and don't listen or they get cranky...so even they have to sit in time out!

Developmental Milestones
We continue to see smalls gains and changes.  He seems more talkative and flexible, but we don't know if it is wishful thinking with the treatment or not.  We continue to have hope that our little buy will continue to develop.

Fun Tidbits
We have so many amazing friends that are out there supporting Little Buddy and helping to raise awareness.  It means so much when they do something like this in his honor and show their WILLPower!

See you next month,

LBM
