December 11

And here we are, Level 12 of 2020!  We are blessed to have made it to the end of this year with our health and our (overall) sanity.

We've had a lot going on this past month and it certainly isn't slowing down as we head into the holidays.

First up, we celebrated World Sanfilippo Day in Mid-November.  Little Buddy's new school has an awesome rock that you can rent and paint for events.  We decided it needed a little purple power!

It was great fun to paint and looked awesome!

Our Sanfilippo Super Hero spreading some WILLPower!

November also brings Thanksgiving.  A difficult year for so many, buy goodness knows we have so much for which we are thankful.  Every day together is a blessing and we won't take them for granted.

Thankful, thankful, thankful!

Little Buddy is definitely thankful for pie!

The end of Thanksgiving means the start of the Christmas season for us!  Our elf, Pat, arrived from the North Pole and we put up our decorations. and began lighting our Advent wreath.

Christmas is coming!

We even got to get into the spirit of the season (safely) by enjoying a drive thru light park!

The weather even cooperated a little bit and allowed us to wear some winter clothes!  Doesn't he look dapper?

Height and Weight
Up this month to 92.6!  And right about 58.5 inches this month!

Look at this amazing fifth grade picture!

Personality
Still loving and lovable!  We've been so thankful that he's been having so many good days of interaction and attention.

This boy is a treasure!

Developmental Changes
Eating, sleeping, and doing well!  We continually are surprised at how strong he is; he somehow seems to be getting stronger, which really shouldn't be possible with his condition.  We give a lot of credit to his excellent therapists and (hopefully!) the clinical trial medication.

Loving running in the cooler temperatures!

Getting stretched out by Daddy!

Gazing adoringly at this PT as she helps him get "strong muscles!"

Fun Tidbits
Little Sister has been enjoying "entertaining" all of us (especially Big Brother since he can't tell her to stop) with her accordion playing.   Oh what a time to be working from home, lol!

It's always an adventure around here!

Whelp, 2021 is just around the corner.  Here's hoping we can stay happy in the status quo.   The Coronavirus vaccine is set to ship out, so hopefully it's the beginning of the end of the pandemic.

Here's hoping,

November 11

We've made it to November, hip hip hooray!  "Normal" isn't coming back anytime soon, but we are happy that we are still making it work and keeping everyone as content and healthy as possible.  One of the ways we do that is by continuing to find ways to safely have fun!

Getting our laps in for Run Club!

Working on our goal swing at Top Golf!

Got to try out our Halloween costumes at Zoo Boo with Uncle M and Aunt S!

Speaking of Halloween, we were glad to find some fun ways to safety celebrate the season!

Pumpkin shirt time!

First up...early "Trunk or Treat" for riders at Inspiration Ranch!

Picking out a perfect pumpkin at an appointment only pumpkin patch!

Great fun at a modified, socially distant Trick or Treat with friends at a park!

These skeletons are ready for bed after a fun Halloween!

And then this month we got to celebrate Veterans Day with this handsome guy!

Height and Weight
Up another pound to 92!  And he's up to nearly 58.5 inches this month!

Mr. Smiles!

Personality
Time change was actually good for us this year!  Will has seen happier and more alert in the afternoons.  We're enjoying the extra engagement and smiles quite a bit.

Developmental Changes
Things are still doing well!  Little Buddy adapted to time change and actually seems to be more interactive in the afternoons now with us and with his therapists.  We keep working on all his skills and we have had a lot of help from a little helper lately.

Little Sweetie continues to look out for her brother.  Now that she's a big first grader, she's taken the initiative to help guide him through his learning time and then read to him when he shows an interest in a book.  And yes, the sweetness makes me tear up!

Physically, he's still doing well!  Lots of good sleep and eating.  We're a bit concerned about urine retention, but overall he's happy and we're happy.

I will never get tired of pictures of him sleeping so cozily!

Hungry, growing boy!

Fun Tidbits
Little Buddy has always loved Daniel Tiger, so we thought it would be fun to check out some old episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.  Unsurprisingly, he was as hooked by this wonderful man as I was when I was a kid.

"I like you, I like you, I like you, just the way you are."

One more month left this year, so hard to believe!

See you then,
