This month started off with another of Little Buddy's school district's week long breaks. Again, I'm not a fan of disrupting his routine so often, but I'll always be glad to have more time with him.
We started the week with a much needed taming of this wild man's hair.
Hey there wolf man!
Looking good!
Of course we needed our traditional carousel ride with Daddy following the haircut!
Happy boy on his favorite, the tiger!
Then we went to lunch and got to enjoy a beautiful day walking on the Water Way afterward too!
Me and my guy!
Wednesday was both Valentines Day and Ash Wednesday, so no school meant it was easy for me to take Little Buddy to Mass that morning!
Got our ashes to show our love for God...
...and celebrated Valentine's Day to show our love for each other!
We finished the week by spreading some WILLPower with our friend Ms. A at her Bible study. Then I headed out of town with Little Sister to check on Mamaw and Papaw in Ohio with Little Buddy and Daddy got some special one-on-one time.
Go WILLPower!
He was a happy boy when I got back!
Smiles are the best welcome home present!
Once I arrived home, it was game time. The Woodlands Marathon races were upon us and it was time for Little Buddy to take on his 10th Kid's Marathon Challenge and his 9th Charity Challenge!
Last training walks before Race Day.
Ms. C wishing him luck before his race!
Crossing the Finish Line for the 10th time!
Go Team WILLPower!
You did it Little Buddy!
Chatting with Ms. S after the race!
But the fun didn't stop after his race. Then we cruised into Rare Disease Day, the end of the Charity Challenge, and Momma running the half!
Happy Rare Disease Day from this rare boy!
And look who is the 2024 Charity Challenge Winner! Go WILLPower!
So...race day itself was a little crazy. We are sad to say that Great Grandma passed away. Daddy and Little Sweetie went back to Ohio for the funeral and Momma and Little Buddy stayed here as it was too quick a trip for Little Buddy to make. It was a bit crazy, but Momma was able to schedule everything out with a lot of helpers to make sure that she could still run and Little Buddy was taken care of. It all worked out, but what a day! Once Daddy and Little Sister made it home, we celebrate another great Marathon season with Aunt S, Uncle M, and L at Chuys.
Reunited with Little Sister!
Proud of Team WILLPower!
Little Buddy, you are our inspiration!
Height and Weight
Um, excuse me heavyweight champion of the world, who said you could shoot up to 123.8 pounds this month?!?! While we are extremely grateful for his continued eating prowess and weight, our poor old people parent bodies need you to stay closer to 120. Eep! But what a good problem to have! At least Daddy is still strong enough to lift him for our Diagnosis Day picture.
A big guy, but always our baby.
Personality
So very happy and interactive this month. It's absolutely the best thing.
Developmental Changes
Finally had our baseline appointment with our new gastroenterologist. We had scheduled the appointment back in the summer when Little Buddy was having all of his eating difficulties and we were worried about his weight. Even though those issues have resolved, we kept the appointment just to establish a relationship with the doctor to be ready for the future. She was very happy with how he was doing and so are we! He's eating well, keeping his weight steady, is happy and interactive. Hoping we can keep these trends!
Doing well at the appointment.
Enjoying lunch with Daddy at Red Lobster afterward!
We have however noticed more episodes of sleepiness lately. We're not sure if he's not sleeping well at night or if his body is just getting more tired during the day. We are crossing our fingers that it's not indicative of another growth spurt. He can stay just as he is!
Wishing he could sleep in and also crashing during the day.
Regardless, he's still working hard at school and at all his activities.
Getting his work done at Amazing Grace Faith Formation!
Fun Tidbits
It was Go Texas Day this month, and we still think this guy makes the most handsome cowboy every.
We can never get enough of this face!
Right now, we are starting Spring Break (oh goodie, another week long break, ay yi yi!) and looking forward to Easter. It's hard to believe, but summer will be here before we know it!
Good night,
