As summer slips into fall (supposedly...I don't feel like anyone has told Texas about this yet since it's still so intensely hot!), we're balancing our weekend activities with the demands of the school year. I still don't feel like we've caught up since the cruise in July, but we'll keep trying and eventually we'll feel like we have a handle on things. Right? Maybe??
You know what? Let's just ignore all the stress and hit the lake to finish out the season.
Last lake days...we had a good boating season!
We also keep prioritizing our time together as a family. And that includes things like Chuy's lunches and time with Buster!
If Chuy's ever goes out of business, we're going to have to buy this bench!
Petting the puppy!
Little Sister decided that she wanted to be a puppy for a bit!
While we always have fun with Little Sister, I'd be lying if I said that Little Buddy didn't enjoy his only child time while she was at a sleepover!
Special Daddy, Momma, and Bubby dinner!
Still loves story time!
While he had a good time getting all the attention, he was happy when she got home. We celebrated with some matching family pajamas!
We love having s'more time together! Get it? GET IT?
Also, we noticed Little Buddy's hair was a getting a bit crazy. With school pictures coming, it was time to schedule another haircut.
Crazy hair!
Post hair cut handsome!
The traditional riding of the tiger on the carousel!
I would say we ended up Picture Perfect!
One of the most exciting part of the month was Mimi and Pop-Pop's visit! We even got to enjoy an Astros game together.
Finally got Little Buddy to a home Astros game this season!
Height and Weight
Guess who it up to 113 lbs. this month?! That's right! We are relieved by this, but we won't be letting up now. We are hoping to get him up to 115 or over by next month.
Hoping our big tall boys keeps filling out!
Personality
Honestly, so much more engaged and energetic and interactive! I worry he was more lethargic this summer because we were accidentally underfeeding him. He's doing much better and full of smiles.
Developmental Changes
With the increased energy, we are trying to give him more opportunities to play with toys and activities again. It's been a bit difficult since we used to do a lot of his activities at the kitchen table and now he's sitting there so often trying to get calories in that we don't want to keep him sitting more. We've been trying to do more floor work with him, both upstair and downstairs.
Having fun with his megablocks!
And, of course, we're working to keep him strong and stable with his daily walks and his daily injections!
Fun Tidbits
So three days a week, I put Little Buddy on the bus and then go into work. On those days, he and I watch Little Sister's morning announcements together. I like that he gets to be included in the community in this way.
Good morning Monarch friends!
We have two back-to-back trips coming up over the course of the next month...wish us luck!
Good night,
LBM
