The Woodlands Marathon WILLPower Weekend

What a weekend!  The WILLPower team was set to make The Woodlands Marathon shine purple with WILLPower and I have to say we succeeded!  There were racers and cheerers and awards and out of town visitors and just so much fun!  Let's get started!

First things first, Thursday started off with a bang with Momma and Little Buddy getting home from Minnesota just in time to greet Little Buddy's Godparents who came into town!  Uncle C, Aunt D, and Cousin J came down for this special weekend and, although we wore them completely out, I think that they had a good time!  We started the weekend on Friday, with Go Texan Day at Little Buddy's school.  I was so glad that his Godparents got to see his Cowboy Program!  Cousin J and Little Sweetie were come pretty cute cowpokes as well!

My favorite cowboy!

Showing off his dance moves!

These two cowkids didn't cooperate for a smiling picture, but I thought these ones were pretty adorable.

After the Go Texan Day program, we sped over to pick up LOTS of race packets (Momma and Uncle C were running the half, and the kids were running the 2K) and to attend the awards ceremony to see where the WILLPower team finished in the Charity Challenge!

Very proud to accept 3rd place in The Woodlands Charity Challenge in honor of WILLPower and the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation!

As if the day wasn't quite busy enough, that evening was the 2K run for the kids!  Very proud of Little Buddy and Little Sweetie for earning their marathon medals this year at Run Club!  And not only did Will run the race, he was also selected to be the official starter of the race!

Ready to get things started!

More WILLPower runners!

Entranced by his medal!

Little Sweetie had a rough second half of the race (the late night wasn't helping either) but she did it!

Proud of these two!

Third year of Run Club in the books!  So proud of this boy!

The next day it was time for the Relay, the Half, and the Full Marathon.  We were ready to spread some WILLPower!

Momma was ready to go!

Best cheer squad in the land!

Although Momma and Aunt S had a rough race this year, we were still able to push it into the finish line.  And we were so ready for that finish line!

DONE!

The best prize at the end of the race...this face!

My finish line love, lol!

A great day for WILLPower!

Momma and Uncle C are official finishers!

While we were running, Little Buddy was busy being the main man on the course and accepting WILLPower's third place finish for the Charity Challenge!

On the winner's podium!

After we finished the Half, we waited for Little Buddy's friend, Mr. S, to finish his first Full Marathon!

Go Mr. S!

Little Buddy loves Ms. C!

Thank you for running for our boy, Mr. S!

Then, after the race, we met for our traditional after race Chuy's lunch!

Love these WILLPower kids!

Momma and Aunt S forgot to get our post race medal shot, so we had a belated one!

Our weekend fun wasn't fully over after the race...we still had a few days with Uncle C, Aunt D, and Cousin J and we were ready to make some memories!  First stop, bounce houses to work off some energy!

Happy Little Buddy going down the slide!

Family pile up on Daddy!

Cousin J and Little Sweetie taking a helicopter ride!

Being brave and jumping on the bounce pillow!

Aunt D and I chilling with Little Buddy and Cousin J!  Love these boys!

When we weren't bouncing, we were playing Legos, reading bedtime stories, and sliding down stairs.

Love our time together.

It was also a bittersweet weekend as we lived through another diagnosis day anniversary for Little Buddy.  It doesn't get any easier, but we are able to focus on what is most important.  And that's living each day with our Little Buddy with intention and meaning.

Our last morning together.  So glad they were able to come visit!

Love my cousin!  And blessed she and Uncle C are Little Buddy's Godparents.

And making this guy proud...well, that's the best thing we did all weekend.  Everything is for you, Little Buddy.  We run, we fight, for you.

Our everything.

Another successful WILLPower event.  Thanks to everyone that was part of it!

With gratitude,

LBM
