Loving My Gym more than ever after his birthday party there! He's moved up a class, so I am no longer in the play area with him. This also mean he's really having to work on his listening skills.
Speaking of his birthday, he and Captain America are rarely separated. A great present from his friend, O!
He also really enjoys doing science experiments every week.
Really hoping to keep his interest in science and math strong as he
grows up!
Our 4th of July was pretty low key (he falls asleep before fireworks start!) but he and sister had a great day playing together!
We even had the pleasure of having our friend, E, come to play for the day! And we got to have...
A wonderful impromptu playdate with friends!
So much sibling love!
Height and Weight
Weighing in on our scales at 55 lbs. and 44 1/8 in., our gentle giant continues to grow and grow!
Personality
Still
continuing to grow in confidence! He's even started answering some of
the questions at his My Gym class now (he tends to stay quiet in bigger
groups, but talks mine and Daddy's ears off!). My shy guy is slowly
becoming more adventurous.
Developmental Milestones
So
much going on as we begin to prepare for his assessment next month.
Daddy and I have filled out numerous scales and questionnaires as we
prepare for the doctors. It's becoming apparent though these scales
that it's very possible he has some gross and fine motor delays. It is
very possible that they are due to his size and how quickly he's grown,
so we are hoping that some directed occupational therapy will help him
overcome any delays quickly. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be
anything more seriously concerning, like autism or anxiety.
He
continues to grow in his sophistication of language and his memory
still amazes me. His throwing and kicking continue to improve as well.
And he's started to take care of his potty business by himself. He
still needs reminded to go, but he'll now go by himself when told and
take care of business. He's filling a jar with pom-poms each time he
goes so as to earn a prize and he seems to be receptive to this
motivation, at least, more receptive than any other reward system we've
tried! He knows all his letters and sounds and continues to work at
sounding words out. He can sight read several words as well.
Fun Tidbits
Our
swimming classes this summer have been a big success! He now jumps in
without fear and "swims" underwater towards us. Just have to keep
working on floating and reminding him to come up for air! We've signed him up for another set to keep his progress moving forward.
