It's been a fun month! After our visit to Ohio, it did take a bit of time to get back into our routine, but we're almost there (just in time to go out of town on a trip for Memorial Weekend at the end of the month ;) ).
It's been getting warming, so we've been prepping for summer. First things first, Little Buddy needed a new haircut! He has such thick hair and it grows so fast, Daddy talked me into buzzing it with clippers. It's so short now! It took me a bit to adjust, but it will certainly help keep him cooler.
Getting his buzz!
Summer also means swimming time, so we took a quick trip down to our neighborhood pool to start the season. Goodness, the pool requires so much more stuff now that we have two kids!
These kids have it made in the shade!
Although summer is coming, our learning time continues on. He particularly liked his Statue of Liberty lesson (he's a big US history fan already) and is now obsessed with the clip of it "walking" from Ghostbusters 2 (80s movie clips are also an important part of our curriculum)!
A picture of the real Statue of Liberty and then some pop culture about it!
Even with learning time, we still make time to have fun! Especially on days when we are obsessed with our football helmet. It the perfect accessory to wear to the park (although I need to remind him that clothes are also necessary) as well as during lemonade making.
Height and Weight
And we've grown again: 52.5 pounds and 43 3/4 inches tall. His 4 year well check is next month, so I am interested to see if he keeps up his 99th percentile streak!
Personality
Very social and loving still, but can be shy when put on the spot! It's really amazing to watch him with his sister, though. Such a little caretaker! It's fun to watch him "teach" her and accept her playing with him!
Brother and sister time!
Developmental Milestones
Oh the potty. I know one day he'll be potty independent, but sometimes it get stressful waiting! We're trying to give him more ownership of his potty behavior so that he can learn to listen to his body and go without our reminders. We keep reminding ourselves that it's a process. It's just funny because it doesn't bother him at all to have an accident (he's actually getting really good at cleaning the carpet) and rewards don't matter much to him. He did choose new rewards (a bite of cheese and watching the Ghostbusters Statue of Liberty video) so we'll see if that will help motivate him. Otherwise, still just progressing verbally and working on LISTENING and controlling those ants in his pants!
Fun Tidbits
Right now he is very interested in golf! Because Daddy went golfing when we were back in Marietta, Little Buddy decided that he wanted to golf too. So Daddy went and got him a set of clubs and they started work!
Have a good night,
LBM
