March 11

What a fun month we've had!  We've already noticed a big jump in Little Buddy's verbal ability, potty skills, and concentration since he's been out of school.  I think the consistency and routine of every day has been very helpful to him, and there's lots of learning to be had at home!

Working on letters and spelling

Drawing and writing on the new outdoor chalkboard Daddy made

Helping Daddy outside with flower planting and patio furniture assembling.  Safety first!

Baking is still one of our favorite activities.  He really likes his new jobs of sifting flour and breaking eggs!

The best part is watching him start to teach things to Little Sister.  It's beyond sweet!

Reading Sister his current favorite book, Nighttime Ninja.  "Let me read you, sister!"

Shapes lesson!

Another big part of this past month was cheering on Momma during my half marathon.  This was the third annual one I've done and his third time as my cheerleader.  His smiles give me the strength to keep going!

Cheering me on and congratulating me (while also pilfering my medal)!

He even earned his own "medal" sticker and ribbon at My Gym this month.  He was pretty proud!

My strong guy!

We also got our ashes this month.  We're still working on sitting down and listening through all of Church, but he is getting more patient and interested.

Height and Weight
Jumped up to 52 lbs. and now just a hair over 43 in.

Personality
Becoming more and more adventurous, but only really with Daddy and I.  He still prefers to play with us or by himself, but we are working on getting out and seeing our friends more so that he can have more social play.  The weather has not been helpful on that end.  He also continues to be quieter in big groups, though he is rarely quiet at home!

Developmental Milestones
Doing a great job expressing himself, uses a big cup with no problems (except when his arms flail, and is starting to report more about his feelings, likes, and dislikes.  It's so funny to hear how many things he "loves."  "We're going to Chuy's today?  It's good.  I LOVE quesadillas!"

We've also been having great success with the potty and are down to about one accident per week.  That's huge for us!  I think his new chart system helped, as well as his rewards of watching Charlie Brown before bed and getting to go to Mellow Mushroom Pizza to see Mushroom Man if he goes 7 days without an accident (we've actually streaked to 11 days once!).  Still working on encouraging him to go independently and to tell us instead of us having to prompt him, but it is very reassuring that he just needed some extra attention and routine to be successful.

So proud!

Fun Tidbits
We took him to see his second movie, The Lego Movie.  It was a huge hit with him (and pretty enjoyable for us too)!  He is pretty obsessed with it now, but it is fun seeing how much he enjoyed it.  He has now named his Lego people after the characters in the movie and creates different stories with them daily.  It wasn't hard to guess he would love the movie since he already loved his Legos so much!

Lego Movie time!

Making a diving board for "WyldStyle"!

We actually caught him in the act of instructing Sister in the way of the Lego blocks!  She was riveted.

He's still a loving big brother and interacts with his sister more every day.  I love how he includes her!

They started a band!

A tiger photo shoot!

But no matter what, he is still my sweet, silly, crazy boy.

Love this kid!

I'm so thankful that I have been able to have the extra time with him now that he is out of school.  It's been so much fun spending every day with him.  He's just growing up too fast!

Good night,

LBM
