June 11: Happy 9th Birthday Little Buddy!

Hello summer!  We kept ourselves very busy (no surprise!) in the spring and are ready to start our summertime adventures!

May kept us hopping with Mothers' Day, Purple Week, and the end of school! 

     

On Mother's Day, the local farm by us had a flower picking day and I thought that was a perfect way to celebrate the occasion as a family.  I loved my fresh picked bouquet!

Next up was our annual Purple Week to raise awareness for Sanfilippo Syndrome.  We had several successful events and our favorite boy looked pretty dapper each day, if I say so myself!

The school year was winding down, but we were still excited for several events, including Muffins with Mom!

However, when it came down to the last day of school, Little Buddy decided to continue his tradition of being sick and missing it!  :(  A tough 24 hour tummy bug took our big boy down.

But thankfully, following 24 hours, he was back to himself and summer could begin!

Started our summer game strong!  Summer reading sign up at the library, taking a walk through the book maze (him taking my handing and leading me was the best thing ever!), enjoying the water features and statues at Town Green, playing at My Gym, and a quick trip to Target!

Summer time means boat time!

First camp of the summer done...VBS!  It was wonderful seeing how the other kids accepted and included Little Buddy.

And of course...June means that someone's birthday is oh-so-close.  Happy birthday, Little Buddy!

In honor of his 9th birthday, we were blessed yet again to have Ms. J capture some memories for us.  I love this boy and treasure each second we have with him.

     

     

    

     

    

Height and Weight

Just seems to be getting taller and taller lately!  He is 78 pounds this month (we think we went down a bit after the tummy bug) and up to 55 3/4 inches.

Personality

Just happy and handsome! I think being out of school agrees with him, just have to find ways to channel his ENDLESS energy.

Developmental Changes

Again, still doing really well.  We've noticed he's not eating as much by himself with his spoon, but honestly, with mess and time, we haven't been giving him a lot of time to work on it.  Just seems like we are go, go, go all the time!  Trying to slow down and focus on skills.  Otherwise, speech, OT, and PT have been going very well.

I can't communicate how thankful I am to celebrate another birthday with our dear boy.  Every moment, even the tough ones, matter.
