Our biggest thing this month has been preparing Little Buddy for his race and raising funds through the Charity Challenge. He's currently running really well (such a blessing for us!) and in second place!
Running like the wind with Daddy!
Always running with WILLPower!
Sibling love on the training course.
Look who finished his 25 miles to earn the kids' marathon medal after his race!
The amazing instructor and sweet people in my workout class have also been supporting Little Buddy on his fundraising. So blessed to have them as part of our community!
Height and Weight
Bigger, faster, stronger! Our boy at 93 pounds and up to 55 5/8th inches.
I will never get enough of this smile.
Personality
Overall, still smiling. As I mentioned, February is usually a tough time for Little Buddy, but we've managed to be pretty proactive in keeping him happy. We are definitely experiencing moments of agitation, but that haven't been as severe yet as they have been in the past.
All we want is for him to be happy!
Developmental Changes
Happy to report overall that he's been pretty stable and we haven't seen any glaring developmental losses. But we are still vigilant and hope we can keep him at his highest functioning level possible. In fact, we jokingly worry sometimes that his PT is making him too strong!
He's really been enjoying the new chair he got for Christmas. It's allowed him to sit and focus more on looking at books, one of his favorite activities.
All smiles here while eating, but you will notice that he has a scrape on his nose. He tripped on a chair leg as school and gave himself a pretty yucky rug burn on his face. Overall, his mobility is still very good, but monitoring tripping behavior is important so we can make sure to keep him as safe as possible.
Oh bedtime...he has been waking up better this year without us having to drag him out from under the covers, but the sleeplessness we have experienced in past Februaries is starting again. Night-waking, difficulty fallings asleep, early morning wake-ups...they are all happening again. Thankfully, they aren't severe yet and he's not been upset, just awake. Managing sleep is one of the biggest challenges of Sanfilippo and we have been overall blessed with good sleep and hope it continues.
Fun Tidbits
Little Buddy had a dress up week for school, which included a tie-themed day. He is so dapper, I can't even stand it!
There should be more dress up days to show off this handsome guy!
And now we're moving along to March and Spring Break! I can't believe everything is moving so fast.
