May 11

Springtime has set in and we are enjoying it as much as we can before the heat of summer arrives!  After the success of the baseball game last month, we decided to head to a Dynamo game this month.

Enjoying the soccer game!

He had such a good time, we decided to send him as a future soccer player to his school's career day.  This day is always very hard for me, but we try to make the best of it.

Besides cheering on soccer, we also go to go cheer on our friends doing the Ironman!  Mr. T actually ran it in honor of WILLPower and we can't thank him enough.

Go Mr. T!!!

Not to be outdone, Little Buddy also ran the kids race and received his Ironkid medal!

The nice weather helped us enjoy our first look at the new location for Little Buddy's horse therapy ranch.  It will be a longer drive for us, but I know they will do a lot of good work on such spacious and beautiful property!

Working together to stake our the new arena area!

Just two happy kids enjoying the outdoors and some bubbles.  Please stay beautiful weather!

Bubble time!

The other big event this month was Easter.  Between school parties, Pop-Pop coming to visit, and goodies from the Easter Bunny, it was an exciting time!

Two kids ready for school parties!

Easter Bunny picture complete!

Time to color some eggs!

The Easter Bunny came while we were at Church!

Enjoying the apple pie that Pop-Pop brought him!

New neck speakers from the Easter Bunny so he can listen to music whenever he wants without covering his ears (which he hates).  They also seem to be helping him with staying calm and focused during OT and OT.

Busy spring days means a tired boy in the evenings!  One night he even tried to climb into our bed to get some rest!

Good night, Little Buddy!

Height and Weight
He's eating and eating and eating and growing and growing and growing!  He is 81 pounds this month and at 55 1/8 inches.

Personality
Overall, he's been very happy.  But he's also been very energetic and LOUD!  Trying to find a balance but so happy for his good spirits and strong body!

Developmental Changes
Still doing great and we are even seeing gains thanks to his physical therapy!  Again, stable is good in our world!

Playing appropriately with his favorite toy at school!

Daniel Tiger will always be a favorite, I think!

Fun Tidbits
I had a beautiful early MOther's Day gift this month.  Little Buddy crawled up on me after I got home from being with Little Sister at her swim team fun night and was giving me hugs and kisses.  As if this wasn't amazing enough, he then looked right at me and told me, "I love you, too!"  My heart burst with joy!

We are so lucky to have this picture of the moment.  Daddy just thought he was getting a picture of my kisses and hugs, but caught the moment perfectly!

I can't believe next month will be summer and our little boy will be NINE!!!  Eeek!

Until then

April 11

It's time for Spring Break!  We had so many adventures.  First up was our first trip ever to the aquarium, made even more special by the fact Ms. A got to come with us!

Little Buddy loved checking out the fish, the white tiger, and petting the rays!

We finally took a spin on the ferris wheel we always see from the highway!

There were more rides and activities at the Aquarium than we were aware of; we'll definitely be back!

My favorite picture of the day!

Daddy's birthday falls during Spring Break, so we were happy to be able to celebrate with him!

The day after birthday cake, it was time for pie!  Little Buddy loves pie, so of course we had to take him on his first trip to the newly opened Pie Town to celebrate Pi Day in Pi themed outfits (because we're nerds)!

Spring Break also means our annual rodeo trip to the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo!  The kids look forward to it each year and this trip was no exception.

Sadly, Little Buddy is too big for the pony rides now, but playing on the tractors still makes him smile.

Petting a the bunny!

The rain was coming in so we sadly didn't get to take Little Buddy to the big kid section of the amusement park to see if their were rides he could ride, but he enjoyed watching Little Sister on the little kid activities!

Our favorite cowpokes!

One of our big highlights of Spring Break was getting to go see Paw Patrol Live: Pirate Adventure!  Little Buddy actually did wonderfully at the show and was mesmerized by the pups!

Excited for Paw Patrol!

Is it starting soon Momma?

Ready for the show!

Paw Patrol is on a roll!

Loving it!

What a great show!

Spring Break finished up with St. Patrick's Day and our guy looking very happy in his green.

Even though Spring Break was done, our adventures were not!  We were able to attend our first Astros game of the season and Little Buddy really enjoyed it (and enjoyed the popcorn and ice cream as well)!

Cheering on the Astros with Daddy!

Discussing the highlights of the game.

All smiles after a great day at the ball field!

Our next big adventure was another first...Little Buddy's first trip to Space Center Houston!  He had a school field trip and Momma was able to go with him as his aide.  There was a lot there that he enjoyed and we hope we can go back as a family this summer!

So excited when I told him it was field trip day!

Ready to start the day!

Just chilling with the astronauts.

Engineering a Mars Rover model with his classmates!

He loved looking at all the badge insignias from the different space missions.

Checking out the moon landing and then pretending to be an astronaut too!

Enjoying the science demonstration!

Space shuttle!

He got to touch both a moon rock and a Mars rock!

Working on docking his rocket at a space station!

Loved having this special time together today!

Height and Weight
We've been worried he has been growing and at 80.4 pounds this month and just under 55 inches, it seems like we might be right!

Personality
We've been having a good month!  He's been very happy and has been having a lot of good sleep, which I think really helps keep him calm and less agitated.

Our favorite superhero.

Developmental Changes
Thankfully, not much too report.  Stable is good in our world!  He's been doing well with speech therapy, occupational therapy, equine therapy, and we have FINALLY been able to get a physical therapist!  Very excited to have have someone else on our team helping to keep our boy strong.

Doing fantastic on Rony the pony!

Fun Tidbits
It's no surprise that my favorite special moments of the month included the love between these two siblings. Little Sister works really hard to find a way for them to play together and they are so happy when they spend that time together.

Just joy on their faces makes my heart sing.

Sleepy cuddles and so much love.

Let's see what fun next month brings!
