March 11

Another month and more historic moments!  Aren't we done with making history yet?  Ay yi yi!  At least we've had lots of fun and made lots of memories amongst all the craziness.

We'll start the month with a little love...we had a beautiful Valentines Day with our little loves!

Oh my heart, I loved this card from Little Buddy!

Hearts of gold, full of love and goodness, even in this past difficult year.

Thank goodness our hearts were warm on Valentines Day since not long after we really needed that warmth...Houston froze!  We accumulated REAL snow (enough to sled down the back hill and make a small snowman).

Excited for actual snow!

However, the snow may have been pretty but the weather was dangerous.  Houston, and most of Texas, isn't built to withstand subfreezing temperatures for multiple days.  Pipes burst and our electricity grid was overwhelmed.  We lost power for 17 hours but thankfully it wasn't on the coldest day and our pipes and water were ok.  So many people had it much worse than us.

Trying to keep Little Buddy warm by the natural gas fire place.  We had family sleepovers that night to make sure everyone stayed warm enough.  It got to 55 degrees in the house!

Thankfully, we finally thawed out and went back to our regularly-scheduled Texas weather and events, which for us meant it was time again for the our local marathon events and the Charity Challenge!  It's always both emotional and motivating for us that it takes place smack dab in the middle Rare Disease Day and Little Buddy's Diagnosis Day.

Little Buddy did great during his 2K and finishing up his kids' marathon season!

Our Rare Disease Warrior on Rare Disease Day!

Our sweet boy thanking all of his supporters from the bottom of his heart for our record-breaking year of Charity Challenge Fundraising...over $63,000 for research!

Overall, we're just grateful for another month of good health and togetherness.

We love you, Little Buddy!

Height and Weight
Up to 94 pounds this month and staying just above 59 1/8 inches.  Still growing and still strong!

Hey handsome!

Personality
We've been very happy since the February freeze...my theory is that the freeze disrupted the pollen that normally upsets his allergies and sinuses so badly.  In any case, we'll take all the smiles we can get from this guy!

Every smile is a gift and a treasure!

Developmental Changes
Big news...we finally, after SEVEN months of work, received Little Buddy's new medical stroller!  We're happy to report that there hasn't been a lot developmental change that requires this chair other than his continually growing size!  He looks so much more comfortable and happy

Loving his new wheels!

Fun Tidbits
We are so fortunate that Little Buddy has been able to attend school and have some semblance of normalcy this past year.  We know many other people all over the country who have not had the opportunity for in-person school and how they wish they did, especially those with children with special needs.  We count our blessings daily that he can go to school and has been doing well.

Snuck into the teacher's desk and tried to take over class!

Our favorite cowboy on Go Texas Day!

Spring Break is just around the corner as well our our last clinical trial trip to California.  Little Buddy's finished his time in the trial, but some of the other participants are just getting started due to a stall in the enrollment process because of COVID.  We're requesting the drug company to allow the early participants to stay on the treatment until the others finish and praying they grant it.  Here's hoping!

Until then,

LBM
