Cannot get enough of this face! And look, it's cool enough in Texas that he's been able to wear his long sleeve shirts for the first time in 2 years, lol!
Looking serious and contemplative on Veterans' Day.
Happy to be Daddy's boy!
Loving the ship ride at the new play place!
Their large climbing structure is perfect for him!
Thanks for bringing me to a new place to play, Momma! I had fun!
The Texas weather has been crazy this month! We can't believe it's actually been cold a few days. I'm a big fan of the cold and am hoping it takes out all the mosquitos that continue to hang around in December.
Cold enough to wear a real winter coat and hat to school one day, warm enough to bike ride the next!
As we get ourselves ready for the holidays, we got an early Christmas gift this year! Uncle C and Aunt A flew in from Switzerland and Mimi and Pop-Pop came down, so we got to have an early Christmas celebration together!
Enjoying some Santa time with the whole family and Little Buddy likes his reindeer antlers!
Height and Weight
Weighed in at 68 pounds and 8 ounces at the doctor and up to 53.2 inches somehow! So tall!
Personality
Mischievous and handsome as ever! Grateful for his constant joy and happiness!
Developmental Changes
All good, stable things, so yay! Little Buddy is still doing very well for a 7 year old with Sanfilippo, so that's all we can ask for (besides a new clinical trial...any help with that Santa?).
Verbally, Little Buddy has lost quite a bit but we still celebrate what he still has. And we are firm believers that what he says, he gets! So when he comes home yelling "I want Daddy!" we FaceTime immediately with Daddy!
Stacking 8 blocks and playing appropriately with toys is nothing to sneeze at in this house!
Look at that utensil skill!
We did have one little mishap this month. It seems that Little Buddy's OT has been working because, for the first time in over 2 years, he was able to manipulate our TWO door locks and get out of the house. Momma was able to find him and get him home safely nearly immediately, but it was panic attack time for a few moments there. While we are thankful that he is still so well physically, it is difficulty when his impulsivity keeps increasing. Working to keep him safe requires constant vigilance, so we'll be updating all of our safety measures. Still though, I am impressed his hand strength and coordination improved that much that he could work the lock!
Fun Tidbits
Someone is now officially 7 and 1/2 years old! Every milestone like this is bittersweet because we are so excited to have every minute we do with our Little Buddy, but we also know that the ticking clock of time is not our friend. We choose to focus on celebrating and living in the moment, but sometimes it is hard.
Happy Half Birthday, Little Buddy!
I'll be excited to update the next post...we're doing a special trip for Christmas and I think Little Buddy is going to love it!
Good night,
LBM
